Hello! My name is Josh and I am a self-taught JavaScript developer. I am proud of being self-taught, as it speaks to my dedication, discipline and drive.
I began my journey as a web developer during the 2020 pandemic. At the time, I was a bar manager at a local eatery. Once everything shut down, I started looking for jobs I could do from home. That is when I discovered progamming. What started off as a hobby, soon turned into a passion. I fell in love with the world of web development and all of the doors it would open.
I am currently the lead developer for a Canadian non-profit organization promoting avalanche safety and education. In this project I honed my skills as a full-stack developer; from styling a responsive front-end, to building and consuming a REST API, to structuring our databse. This project gave me the experience and confidence needed to make it as a developer.
